Tecate

I took this photograph on a trip to Tecate, Mexico in 1990. Our church group were members of “Project Mexico”; a multi-denominational group fo young people working to build small, modest dwellings for folks who need help. I photographed this little kid all day, she would never smile for me, no matter what I did or say, she was apprehensive and guarded. In 1995, I decided to change directions in my life and left photography behind. I had one final print of my work made; this was the photograph. One copy, which I gave to a dear friend, before I left Souther California. This picture is always near my heart and head. I think of it often. So it is appropriate for my first blog post to my new site. Hope you enjoy the picture and the site.
